Education will be a foundation for a better post-Covid-19 world

Although education will be shaken by Covid-19, there are many reasons to be optimistic about the future.

The April 7, 2020, International Labor Organization assessment of the impact of Covid-19 on jobs by industry, country, and employment category makes for sobering but essential reading. “The worst global crisis since WWII” will be devastating to many industries and livelihoods.

Education will clearly be shaken up (especially in delivery models—video learning being just one tool), but the ILO considers it a low-risk sector (compared with entertainment or manufacturing, for example).

Our role in helping education institutions, teachers, and learners succeed and re-skill couldn’t be more important foundations for building a more sustainable and durable post-Covid-19 world.
